Autumn River Series, 2026: That's a Wrap!

This October, Restore Ballymacraven River Association (RBRA) hosted our Autumn River Series, bringing together local river ecology, wildlife and creativity through a programme of talks and hands on workshops in the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon.

The idea behind this year’s series was to bring together the science of our local rivers with the creativity and inspiration they  offer. By pairing talks on river wildlife and ecology with creative workshops, we hoped to give people the chance to carry what they learned into their own artwork and explore the rivers from a different perspective.

Throughout the series, we explored the wildlife of the Inagh and Ballymacraven Rivers. From learning about the mammals that inhabit our local river corridors to experimenting with drawing, watercolour and ceramic relief tiles, each event seeking to offer a different way to connect with the local rivers and perhaps see them from a new perspective.

A big thank you to everyone who made the Autumn River Series possible. We’re grateful to all the participants who came along and got involved, to our speakers and workshop facilitators for sharing their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm, and to the Falls Hotel for providing a venue for the series.

We still have plenty in the pipeline for the rest of the year, so keep an eye on our page for more evening events, talks and creative workshops coming up. If you aren't already signed up to our newsletter and would like to be informed of upcoming events, click here to sign up.
